Barend Santen specializes in international commercial law (including commercial agency, distribution and franchise agreements). Barend has particular experience in advising Dutch and foreign based companies regarding cross border commercial agreements in a wide range of industries. Barend is known for his broad experise in the field of commercial litigation regarding commercial transactions including issues of private international law.
Barend further specializes in employment law and advises clients drawn from a wide range of sectors. He assists national and international clients in both contentious and non-contentious work, on all aspects of employment matters. Barend has extensive experience in advising on terms and conditions of employment contracts and on terminations of employment and the negotiation and documentation of settlement terms. He also frequently advises on (collective) redundancy and workforce restructuring exercises including the managing of executive staff exits. Barend’s expertise includes the transfer of undertakings and workers participation.
